Mr. Richard Leo (Dick) Belson of Millington, Michigan age 87 passed away Sunday evening July 7, 2019.
Richard was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on July 31, 1931 and was the son of the late Aubrey and Beatrice (Spear) Belson. On May 4, 1957 Richard married Miss Marian Johnson, and together they have celebrated 62 years of marriage. Richard served our country in the US-Army during the Korean War. When he returned home, he went to work for General Motors at the Fisher Body Coldwater road plant, working as a Mil-Rite, retiring after 37 years of service. He also for many years owned and operated the sand and gravel pit on Sheridan and Birch Run Roads.
Richard leaves to cherish his memory, wife Marian. He leaves also three children; Greg (Tammy) Belson, Kathleen Belson, and Ann (Kenneth) Auernhammer. Richard also leaves five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister Betty (Don) Klemmer, a sister in-law Carol Belson, several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides his parent, Dick is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and James Belson.
Friends may call at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, Michigan on Thursday July 11, 2019 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and for a brief time on Friday from 12:00 pm until the services begin. Funeral service for Richard will also be at the Hanlin Funeral Home on Friday July 12, 2019 beginning at 1:00 pm with the burial to follow at the Millington Township Cemetery. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be made t the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the American Diabetes Association, or a charity of your choice. Also the family would like to invite you to a meal at the Otisville Church of Christ following the Grave Side Service.
