Vassar

Mrs. Betty Lou Giddings (Snover), age 90, our loving, thoughtful, determined, facetious, and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty Lou was born on December 18, 1934, in Lapeer, Michigan, to Robert & Bernice (Kilbreath) Snover. She was raised on the family farm alongside her siblings. At age 5 with her 3 year old sister, they were put in charge of chasing cows into the barn. They got lost and sister was found first and Betty Lou was found at the neighbors house, enjoying a meal. On June 30, 1951, Betty Lou married Robert L. Giddings. Together they shared countless memories, raised their children, and celebrated 56 years of marriage before his passing in 2007. Betty Lou was a longtime member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish in Vassar, Michigan. Betty Lou held several positions throughout her life including ITT Plastics in Vassar for a number of years and eventually retiring from the Bavarian Inn Lodge. Notably she worked as the head prep cook for over 17 years at the Lodge. The Lodge has implemented many of her recipes. Above all, Betty Lou was a dedicated mother and wife. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and loving ways. She enjoyed painting rocks, putting puzzles together, camping, cooking, tending to her flowers, bird & wildlife watching, and her taking care of her cats.

She is survived by her children: Phyllis Enos, Ed (Dagmar) Giddings, Cindy Adams, Nancy McDuffie, Tom (Linda) Giddings; daughters-in-law, Cathy Giddings, and Candi Giddings; 26 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Snover, and Sam Snover; in-law, Pat Snover; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Giddings; parents, Robert L. & Bernice Snover; siblings: David Snover, Ron Snover, Elane Serals, Marline Smith, Barb Phinex, Joe Snover; sons-in-law, John Quincy Adams IV, and Jesse Garza; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Giddings; and father-and-mother-in-law, Luther & Florence Giddings.
