MILLINGTON – Mr. Bud Murray III, aged 75, our hardworking, dedicated, kind, and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Bud was born on October 9, 1950, in Saginaw, Michigan. He was raised in Saginaw and attended Buena Vista schools. He spent his career at General Motors in the Grey Iron Foundry as a foundryman. On November 4, 1972, he married the love of his life, Cynthia “Cindy” Christensen. Together they have shared countless memories, raised their sons, and celebrated 53 years of marriage. Bud loved to work on old cars, hunt, fish, go to the U.P., spend time on Lake Gogebic, and at the their cabin “Murray Getaway”. He was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and the “3” car. Bud proudly wore the title of “Papa” for his grandchildren and was their biggest supporter and fan. His happiest moments were spent with his family and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy Murray; sons, Albert Hugh “Bud” (Rhonda) Murray IV, Scott Jon Murray, and Michael Edward (Amanda) Murray; grandchildren: Hailey Marie (Taylor Sweeney) Murray, Albert Hugh “Buddy” (fiancée, Desiree Hammon) Murray V, Drew Nicholas Murray, Claire Joelle (fiancé, Jackson Frappier) Murray, Kate Marie Murray, and Joel Thomas Murray; great-grandchildren, Sienna Rose Murray, Albert Hugh “Little Man” Murray VI, and Liam Michael Sweeney; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his mother, Gwendolyn Ilene Murray (née Buxton), and brother, Jon Murray.
Funeral services for Bud will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington; visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and last until the time of service. Afterward, Bud will be laid to rest in Newton-Compau Cemetery.
