Carol Ann Schwab of Millington, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Carol was 89 years old, born to parents Walter and Alma (Bender) Hahn, January 5, 1936 in Saginaw, Michigan.

She graduated from Millington High School in 1954 and was the recipient of the Activity Scholarship Award, for outstanding academics and athletic performance, Softball, Basketball, Glee Club and choir. She married Victor Schwab Jr on September 23,1954 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Together they celebrated 66 years of marriage she raised 6 children, worked the family farm and she was a career woman, in June 1980 Carol started her real estate career and in 1992 opened her own company as Broker/Owner of Area Wide Real Estate the company she founded, retiring in 2002. When her children were in school, she was an was active member of Millington Athletic Boosters and was a lifelong and devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran church.

Carol enjoyed gardening, painting, celebrating holidays with her family especially Christmas. She was fierce competitor and loved watching her kids and especially grandkids compete in any and all sports and she was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions. Later in life she loved winters in Tavares, Florida and the friends and hobbies she pursued while there, rummage sale shopping, cards and dominoes as well as a winter garden and flowers.

Carol is survived by her children Victor Schwab III and wife Terry, of Millington; Lynn Borcherding and husband John, of Millington; Katherine Durkee and husband Doyle, Cedar Springs; Daniel Schwab, of Millington; Christine Schwab and Mike Barden, of Otisville; many grandchildren and great grandchildren, Sister Elaine Cobb and in-laws, Barb Hahn, David and Rita Schwab, Elanor and Melvin Ayotte and James Henderson; nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Victor, son David, grandson Pete, granddaughter Cassie.

The family will be forever grateful to Carol’s exceptional home care workers and for the assistance and guidance of Heartland Hospice.

Carol's family will receive visitors at Hanlin Funeral Home - Millington from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Funeral services will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church (4941 Center Street, Millington, MI 48746) at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025; additional visitation at church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Jim Bruner will officiate.

In lieu of flowers Memorials in Carol’s memory may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice or directly at gentivahs.com.
