WILDWOOD, GA, formerly VASSAR – Ms. Cindy Denise Tempelton, aged 67, our caring, compassionate, funny, and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away on May 2, 2026.

Cindy was born on December 8, 1958, in Flint, Michigan, to George & Beverly (Ballard) Lovelady. She was raised in Vassar alongside her siblings and attended Vassar schools. In her working years she worked for several businesses including Kaiser Engineering, managing a Speedway gas station, Schwab Insurance, and as a prep cook with Cork Pine Bar & Grill. She was a longtime member of the Vassar Eagles Aerie 2380. Recently she had moved to Wildwood, Georgia to care for her aunt and found peace and tranquility in the nature that surrounded her and renewed her faith in the local Baptist church. Cindy enjoyed the simple moments in life such as time spent fishing or tending to her gardens. She liked to go on girls’ trips, sometimes known as “Geriatric Days”, with her friends. Cindy was an avid fan of football and passionately supported the Detroit Lions. She made friends quickly, and when visiting her one would be greeted with a welcome seat and a cold beverage. Above all, she loved her family and doting on her beloved grandchildren and nieces and nephews as their “Second Mom”. She will be deeply missed but remembered for kind and caring ways.

She is forever loved by her children: Thomas (Laura) Templeton, Trisha Templeton (Ronald Carter), Eric Templeton, and Jessica (Matt) Hollenbeck; beloved grandchildren: Alley, Abigail, Sammy, Emily, Easton, Collin, Makalen “Bobbie”, Kaden, Tara, Elizabeth, Brady, Garrett, and Nicholas; 5 precious great-grandchildren: sisters, Sandy Templeton, and Cindy Jensen; brother, Mike Malak; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members; as well as many friends including, Stacey Gleason, Debbie Smith, and Vernon Castleberry.

Cindy is welcomed home to heaven by her husbands, Tom Templeton, and Kenneth Lackowski; parents, Ken & Beverly Hawn; brothers: Danny Lovelady, David Lovelady, and Bill Winarski; aunt, Virgie Castleberry, mother-in-law, Marcella Nelson; and other family members.

A Celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Vassar Eagles Aerie 2380. Bring yourself and a story of Cindy to share.
