Mr. Dale Geyer Petzold of Millington passed away Sunday evening June 14, 2015 while at the Tender Care Nursing Home in Frankenmuth, MI. Dale was 65.
Dale was born in Saginaw, Michigan on February 6, 1950 and was the son of Albert and Olga (Geyer) Petzold. Dale was a 1968 graduate of Millington High School. Dale married Dianne Swihart on August 28, 1980. He had been employed at the Chevrolet-Truck and Bus plant in Flint, Michigan and retired after 33 years of employment. Dale was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He also loved hunting, fishing and going up north to the cabin. Dale also loved collecting and restoring classic muscle cars. He was a member of the Cardinal Cruse Car Club, Tri-County Crusers, just to name a few, Dale loved his pets, building model cars, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Dale leaves: wife Dianne, three children, Rhonda and husband Perry Martin, daughter Loralea Raspolic, and Jonathan Petzold. He leaves also three grandchildren, Corey, Ryan, and Meagan Martin, two sisters, Charlotte and husband Rick Carsten, Darlene Petzold, and a brother Paul and wife Karen Petzold, as well as many nices, nephews, and other extended family. Dale is preceded in death by his parents.
The Petzold family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home on Thursday June 18, 2105 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Friday June 19, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington from 10:00 am until the services begin. Funeral services for Dale will be held at 11:00 am at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington. The burial will follow the services at the Newton Cemetery in Arbela Township. Memorial Gifts of Remembrance can be directed to the St. Paul Lutheran School.
