Dallas Holzwarth

Dallas L. Holzwarth, of Mio, Michigan, passed away at The Home at Wellspring Lutheran Services in Fairview, Michigan on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, Dallad was 79.

Dallas was born in Flint, Michigan on August 19, 1934 to Henry and Mary (Spangler) Holzwarth. He served his country in the US Air Force. He worked as a pipefitter for General Motors Grand Blanc Fisher Body Plant, retiring in 1995. He moved to Mio in 1998 from Flint.

Dallas was a member of the Living Water Lutheran Church of Mio. He enjoyed watching hockey, hunting, fishing, and all outdoors. He was a talented woodworker. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events and activities.

Dallas is survived by his children: Tom (Lizz) Holzwarth of Mio, MI; Steve Holzwarth of Caro, MI; and Joe (Lisa) Holzwarth of Swartz Creek, MI; his grandchildren: Tony Thompson, Garrett Holzwarth, Alie Holzwarth, Luke Holzwarth, Taylor Holzwarth, Dakota Holzwarth, and Hunter Holzwarth; his great- grandchildren: Johanna & Gaven Holzwarth, and Brayden Thompson; and his siblings: Don (Judy) Holzwarth, Shirley (Dick) Holzwarth-Buszka, and Gary (Diane) Holzwarth. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Bob Holzwarth and Dick Holzwarth; and his sister Virginia Holzwarth-Clining.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, or to the American Kidney.

Service Information

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Hanlin Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt. Morris, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, or to the American Kidney.
