David Burkett

David L. Burkett of Millington passed away suddenly at his Millington residence Thursday February 21, 2013, David was 62.

David was the son of Kenneth & Gloria (Barr) Burkett and was born in Harrietta Michigan on August 15, 1950. On May 4th of 1973 David married Darlene Methner, and together she and David have celebrated 39 years of marriage. David was the former owner of the David & Son Recycling Center, and he was also very active in helping his family in many business ventures. David's passion in life was family of whom he held very dear to his heart.

David loved talking to people and was best known for being a people person. He loved to travel and tell stories, it was said that if you sat and talked with David you walked away gaining a new friend and you became a new friend.

David leaves to cherish his many memories, his wife Darlene, a daughter and son in-law, Lisa & Scott Freeman, a son and daughter in-law, Joe & Michelle Burkett, grandchildren Amanda & husband Ian Palmer, Mitchell Jorgensen, Meagan Jorgensen, Brianna Burkett, and Melanie Jorgensen. David leaves also his siblings, Cheryl, Marilyn, Duane, and Darlene, and several nieces, nephew's extended family and many friends.

The family has honored David's wishes and cremation has taken place. A memorial service was honoring David's memory and celebrating his life on Friday March 1, 2013 at the Millington Church of God. pastor Greg Capsule deliver the eulogy and closing prayers.
