Debbie Hiles, 64, of Millington, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026.

She was born on October 19, 1961, in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. Debbie was known for her protectiveness, creativity, and deep appreciation for nature. She especially enjoyed quiet mornings on the porch watching wildlife, tending to her gardens, and caring for birds and animals.

Debbie was married to her husband, John Hiles, for more than 45 years. The two were neighbors before meeting at a neighborhood gathering and were married on June 21, 1980. Together they built a life centered on family, companionship, and shared devotion.

Her greatest joy was her family. Debbie was a devoted mother to her two children and a proud grandmother. She expressed her creativity through painting, ceramics, sewing, and various decorative crafts, finding peace and purpose in artistic expression.

Debbie worked various retail and clerical positions throughout her life, including 16 years at Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland. She was a lifelong Lutheran and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington.

She is survived by her husband, John Hiles; her daughter, Christina (Hiles) Ewald, and son-in-law Eric Ewald; her son, Jason Hiles, and daughter-in-law Ashley Hiles; and her granddaughter, Liya Hiles.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Frederick Fisch; her mother, Eleanor Jean Partee; and her brother, Robert Lee Fisch.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 12, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington (4941 Center Street, Millington, MI 48746).
