Debra Blankenship

Debra Blankenship passed away early Thursday morning on August 22, 2019. She was 64.

Debra was born on October 24, 1954 and was the daughter of Raymond and Fatima Davis. Debra married James Blankenship on July 9th, 2001 together they celebrated 18 years of marriage. Debra spent her life being a wonderful homemaker for her family. She had many hobbies but some of her favorites were; taking pride in her garden, feeding the hummingbirds, trips to the river house, the occasional bingo game, scratch off tickets, and of course hanging out with her “kid pups” as she would call them. She also loved to cook but she especially loved it when she was cooking with her grandkids and teaching them how to make her famous chicken and dumplings. Most importantly Debra loved being with her husband and family. She will be dearly missed by those who love her especially the ones who would call her often to check in and get a response of “I’m mean, hateful, and ornery as hell but, what else is new!?”

Debra leaves to cherish in her memory husband: James Blankenship. She leaves her children; Michelle (James), Vadice (Jen), Steven (Shasmine), Jared (Krystal), Almon, Susie (Danny), Rhea (Brad), Leah (Adrian), and Eric (Debbi). She also leaves several grandchildren and several siblings. Besides her parents Debra is preceded in death by her son James and grandson Steven Isaiah.

The family would like to invite family and friends for a visitation at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Monday August 26, 2019 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 27, 2019 at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI at 12:00pm with a time of visiting before the service starting at 11:00am. Following the funeral service, the family has put together a luncheon picnic at Latham Park in Millington, MI starting at 1:00pm. Memorial contributions can be made To the American Cancer Society.
