Debra Jean (Sentell) Caplis, age 67, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 27, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Debra was born on November 19, 1953 to the late Emerson and Louise Sentell in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She attended Millington High School, graduating in 1971. Debra went on to have a career as a data processor at Super Foods/Nash Finch for more than 25 years.
Debra is survived by and will be eternally loved by her adoring husband of 21 years, Timothy Caplis. She will also be forever loved and remembered by her daughters, Emily(Mike) Ogden and Keturah (Matthew) Becker as well as her step-children, Stacey (Steve) Sordahl and Shaun (Mandy) Caplis. Her devoted brother, Rick (Kathy) Sentell and dear nephew, Lonnie Sentell and sister in life, Kathy Terhlen. Treasured grandchildren; Quintin (Joice) Germaine, Madison, Kamryn, Samuel, and Bo Becker, Miller, Lillian, and Louise Sordahl, Carter and Cole Caplis. As well as beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Debra was preceded in death and has been reunited with her son, Mitchell Kilbourn and brother, Ron Sentell as well as loved extended family and friends.
Debra was a strong woman with an independent spirit. She had an incredible work ethic. As a free spirit in her younger years, she was care-free and full of life. She was a wonderful mother and led by example with her values of hard work and independence. She had a passion for baking and was an avid gardener. Debra enjoyed spending time with her grand pups as well as loved reading.
The family extends gratitude to Dr. Vivek Nagaraja and the teams at University of Michigan Hospital and Covenant In-Home Health Care for their tireless efforts and compassionate care.
The family would like to invite friends to Hanlin Funeral Home on Friday, April 30 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. The funeral is Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Hanlin Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m.
