Donna Blackmore

Mrs. Donna (Brown) Blackmore of Tuscola Twp. and Vassar, MI passed away early Wednesday afternoon February 21, 2018 while at the Bavarian Comfort Care Assisted Living in Bridgeport, MI. Donna was 85.

Donna was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Livingston) Brown, and was born on March 12, 1932 in Lapeer, MI. Donna married Clinton (Ken) Blackmore on December 30, 1961, and together they celebrated 55 years of marriage before Ken passed in May of 2017. Donna was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vassar, of which in her younger years was very active in serving the church.

Donna leaves her two daughters. Elizabeth and Guy Brunner, and Fran Peplinski. She leaves also two grandchildren; Dustin & wife Ashley Brunner, and Brandon Peplinski; four great grandchildren; Madilyn, Cody, Emma, and Quinn Brunner. Besides her husband and parents, Donna is also proceeded in death by a sister Jean.

Donna’s family will receive friends for a time of visiting and sharing on Sunday Feb. 25, 2018 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI from 4:00 pm until 7:00pm. Donna will in state on Monday from 9:00 am until the services begin at the First United Methodist Church of Vassar. Funeral services for Donna will be Monday February 26, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am at the church. Pastor Scott Sherrill will deliver the eulogy and funeral message, he will also deliver the prayer of committal at the cemetery.  Private burial services will be at the Tuscola Twp. Cemetery, in Tuscola MI. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Vassar.
