Galen A. Gavit

Mr. Galen A. Gavit, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Galen was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on August 25, 1956, to Wally & Geneva (Salmons) Gavit. He grew up in Tuscola with his brother, Gary, and graduated from Vassar High School. In his working years, Galen was a robot repair technician with Lear Corporation and then owned his own maintenance business. He was a passionate outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting waterfowl and deer. Fish Point was one of his favorite hunting and fishing spots. 

Galen is survived by his children: Coty Gavit, Adriana Gavit, Billy Jack Rood, Eric Bellman, and Amanda Jenkins; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Gavit; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wally & Geneva.

Galen's family will welcome visitors to Hanlin Funeral Home in Vassar for a memorial gathering from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024. A memorial service will take place at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
