Gary Churcott

November 13, 1942 — July 20, 2017

Mr. Gary J. Churcott of Vassar, MI passed away early Thursday afternoon while at the Covenant Health Care- Cooper Campus in Saginaw MI. Gary was 74.

Gary was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 13, 1942, and was the son of the late William and Mildred (Babcock) Churcott. Gary graduated from Vassar High School, after which he served our country in the US-Army just prior to the Vietnam War. On June 27, 1970 Gary married Beverly (Babe) Horwath; and together they have celebrated 47 years of marriage. Gary work at various area Police Departments, or as security officer for various companies. Gary at one time also worked for the late Bill Clark (Clark Funeral Home-Vassar) as an Ambulance Attendant. After serving many community’s; in 1996 Gary retired from the Millington Police Department.


Gary leaves to cherish his memories; his wife Babe. He leaves also his children; daughter Amy and husband Patrick Dunham, and a son Tony Churcott. He leaves also; two grandchildren, Baillie, and Brennan, a brother William Churcott, and other extended family and friends. Besides his parents; Gary is also preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Beverly Underwood.


The Churcott family will receive friends at the St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar, MI, on Monday July 24, 2017 from 9:30 am until the Mass of the Resurrection begins at 11:00am. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the Churcott family, for a memorial to be determined later.
