MILLINGTON – Mr. George Dean Myers Sr., age 89, our devoted, hardworking, and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2026, at the family farm on Willard Road.

George was born on October 8, 1937, in Millington, Michigan, to Raymond & Pearl Myers. A lifelong Millington resident, George carefully tended to his crops and animals on the farm and retired from Buick City after many years of dedicated service. In his younger years he enjoyed playing in local softball leagues, and ballroom dancing. He and his best friend, the late Bill Parker, could often be found at various farm auctions. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions. George was also involved with the Vassar Eagles and local Masonic Lodge. Above all, George’s greatest passions in life were his family and farm. He will deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cindy Myers; children: George “Georgie” Dean (Linda) Myers Jr., Karl Raymond Myers, William “Bill” Joseph Myers, Patricia “Trisha” Michelle (Brad) Booth, James “Jim” (Wanda) Myers, Jennifer “Jen” (Tony) Egert, and Kevin James Buning; brother, Richard “Dick” (Jan) Myers; sister-in-law, Leona Myers; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Pearl Myers; siblings: Thomas “Orville” Myers, Maude “Ruth” (the late Linton Clare) Atkins, Gladys “Jean” Call, John (the late Gladys) Myers, Andrew “Jack” Myers, Harry Myers, Gerald “Jerry” (the late Marilyn) Myers, and Nanna “Marguerite” Myers; son, Francisco Casey Buning; and daughter-in-law, Violet Myers.

Funeral services for George will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 9, 2026, at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington (4823 Main Street, Millington, MI 48746); visiting hours will begin at 11:00 A.M. and last until the time of service. Burial will follow in Millington Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the discretion of the family.
