MILLINGTON TWP - Gerald "Jerry" Balcer Jr., 66, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, March 13th, 2023 at Fisher Senior Care & Rehab Center in Mayville.
 
Jerry was born on June 27, 1956, in Flint, MI to parents Gerald Sr. & Shirley (Fletcher) Balcer. He was raised on the family farm in Millington alongside his siblings, Carolyn Stevens, Nancy Hall, Ronald "Ron" Balcer, and Valerie Weiss. He graduated from Millington High School with the class of 1974 and retired from the GM Parts Plant in Pontiac after 30 years of service as a forklift driver. Jerry was passionate about bingo, high school sports, playing euchre, and watching westerns. Above all, he loved his family and being a grandfather to his grandchildren.
 
Jerry is survived by his three sons: Gerald Balcer III (fiancee Tiffany), Mathew Balcer, and Jason (Amber) Balcer; six grandchildren: Gerald IV, Aiden, Elaine, Liam, Alexis, and Killian; his parents, Gerald Sr. & Shirley; sisters: Carolyn Stevens, Nancy (Jeff) Hall, and Valerie Weiss; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
 
He is preceded in death by his brother, Ron Balcer (d. Feb. 2023), and a host of family members and friends.
 

Jerry's family will welcome guests to Hanlin Funeral Home - Millington from 2-7 p.m. on Thursday, March 16th, 2023 and again at the funeral home on Friday, March 17th, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of Jerry's 11 a.m. funeral service. Immediately following, Jerry will be laid to rest in Millington Township Cemetery.
