Gerald K. Myers

Gerald “Jerry” Kenneth Myers, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at his home. 

Gerald was born on November 15, 1933, to Raymond & Pearl (Saunders) Myers. Jerry married the love of his life, Marilyn Fay Atkin, on August 17, 1957. Together they shared 53 years of marriage before her passing in April of 2011. They made their home in Millington, Michigan, where they raised their family and operated the Myers Dairy Farm until they retired from farming. He also worked for several years at the gravel pit off Vienna Rd in Otisville and the Millington Gravel Pit as a loader operator. Jerry loved hunting and fishing, along with taking care of his very large garden. He also was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. 

He is survived by his children: Cindy Rumney, Kenneth, Julie Fifield (Tom Zuccaro), Gerald, Tony (Cristina); grandchildren: Krista (Brian), Emmalee (Jake), Shanna (Jeff), Nicole, Darci (Thomas), Leanne (Boyd), Kameron (Shelia), Angel, Brianna, Jenna (Anthony), Tony, and Nevaeh; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and brothers, Richard (Jan) of Otisville, and George (Cindy) of Millington.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond “Baldy” & Pearl Myers; siblings: Thomas “Orville”, Gladys “Jean” Call, Maude “Ruth” Atkin, Harry, Nanna “Margarette” Moore, Andrew “Jack”, and John; and son-in-law, Daniel Fifield.

Funeral services for Jerry will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. and last until the time of service. Afterward, Jerry will be laid to rest in Millington Twp. Cemetery next to his beloved wife, Marilyn. Further, Jerry will receive military funeral honors under the auspices of the Conrad, Wager, & Keene American Legion Post #164 and assisted by active duty service members of the U.S. Army.
