James "Dick" Richard Benjamin, age 88, of Millington, passed away on May 9th, 2023.

James was born on July 8th, 1934 in Edmore, MI, to James & Alice (Harrison) Benjamin. He graduated from Dye School in 1952.

James married the love of his life, Marilyn Wilson, on November 17th, 1956 and enjoyed 59 years of marriage until Marilyn passed away in June 2015. He honorably served two years in the U.S. Army and then worked and retired from AC Spark Plug after 33 years.

James enjoyed spending time with his family, following the Detroit Tigers, watching his favorite soap opera General Hospital, and going to custom car shows, especially with his 1937 Ford Hot Rod.

He is survived by: his two daughters, Lori (Wayne) Schultz of Millington, and Linda (William) Newsom of Flint; son, Scott (Shelly) Benjamin of Swartz Creek; grandchildren: Andrea (Donald) and Samantha, Jacob, Paul, Taylor (Allysha), and Brooke; four great-grandchildren: Renae (Ethan), Kirsten, Dylan, and Ian; great-great-granddaughter, Josette; brother, John (Carol) Benjamin; brother-in-law, Donald Wilson; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; parents, James & Alice; three sisters, Pat, Janet, and Elaine; and brother, Charles.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to Hanlin Funeral Home - Millington.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
