On June 25th, 2025, James Newell Hart passed away peacefully surrounded by his daughters Cindy Hart Riness and Tina Hart Timmons and husband Michael Timmons all of Vassar, Michigan. James was 84 and 364 days old at the time of his passing, missing his 85th Birthday by mere hours.
James, or Jim as he was known, was a lifetime resident of Vassar, Michigan. Jim was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served as a Corpsman stateside and in Guam. Jim attended and graduated from Frankenmuth High School. He was a retired General Motors employee.
Jim is survived by his two daughters, Tina and Cindy of Vassar, four grandchildren, Kourtnei Petzold St Souver and husband Doug of White House, Tennessee, Zachary Petzold and wife Heather of Millington, Miranda Riness Charles and husband Ryan of Schwartz Creek, Michigan, Sarah Riness and Cody Paquette of Millington, Michigan. Step grandchildren Martina Timmons Sherman and husband Bryan of Conway, Arkansas, Mat Timmons and wife Casey of Clinton, Arkansas, Katrina Timmons Davis and husband James of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by two brothers, Roger Hart of Vassar, Michigan and Steve Hart of Cedar Park, Texas. Along with three great grandchildren Kiera Timmons Hancock and Dillon, Masey Timmons and Sadie Charles.
He was pre-deceased by his late wife, Mary Zoellner Hart.
A Celebration of Life for friends and family is scheduled on Sunday, July 20th, 2025 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Frankenmuth Credit Union - Main Branch (580 N Main St., Frankenmuth).
