Jerry Stratton

Jerry L. Stratton of Vassar formerly of Bridge Port, Michigan passed away Tuesday evening September 16, 2014 with his family at his side while at the Covenant Health Care Cooper Campus in Saginaw MI, Jerry was 80 years old.

Jerry was born in Lapeer, Michigan on August 14, of 1934 and was the son of the late Ray & Florence (Running) Stratton. Jerry served our country during the Korean War in the 82nd Airborne, division of the US-Army, and while in the army he served as a cook. When he returned home Jerry went to work and took up the trade as a pipe fitter working for many small factories. Jerry retired in 1994 from Worth Engineering. Jerry married Miss Rose Schultz on August 24, 1957. Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage before Rose passed away in October of 2013. Jerry is also preceded in death by a brother Leroy James (Jimmy) Stratton, and his parents.

Jerry leaves his two daughter and their husbands; Tennia Marie & Larry Rose, Teresa & Tim Greenwood, six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two sisters; Wanda Scruggs, and Delores Gagnon. Jerry leaves also nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Service Information

A life celebration service for Jerry was held Friday September 19, 2014 at the Hanlin Funeral Home. Honoring Jerry's request cremation has taken place, with a private burial of his urn at the Riverside Cemetery in Vassar Michigan.
