Jimmy A. Kowitz of the Vassar & Millington areas, passed away suddenly Saturday evening Aug. 27, 2016, Jimmy was 67.


Jimmy A Kowitz was the son of the late LJ and Elizabeth (Aboken) Kowitz and was born on January 23, 1949. He graduated from Millington High School. After high school Jimmy served our country in the US-Army during the Vietnam War. When he returned he went to work for the former Ac/Delph Auto. Plant in Flint, Michigan. Jimmy retired in 2003 after 32 years with General Motors. He loved to hunt, fish spend time with family, especially the grandkids, and spending time with his dog Ben.


Jimmy leaves his family. Daughter Rebecca Kowitz, and David Heit, two granddaughters; Kaycee Kowitz, Broklynn Damm, and the remaining grandchildren; Angel, Madison, Levi, and a great-granddaughter Avery. Many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Besides his parents Jimmy is also preceded in death by; a brother Bob two sisters Donna and Maryann, and a daughter, Kimberly.


The Kowitz family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Wednesday August 31, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and also after10:00 am Thursday September 1, 2016 an hour prior to the funeral beginning. Funeral services for Jimmy will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday September 1, 2016 at the Hanlin Funeral Home. Following the services, the family will honor Jimmy’s wishes and cremation will take place with a private burial at a later date.
