Johnny E. Crump III

July 7, 1976 — March 28, 2025

Millington

Johnny "John" Edgar Crump III, 48, from Millington, passed away peacefully in his loving wife's arms with his family by his side on March 28, 2025, at Beaumont Hospital in Troy.

John was born to John and Cheryl Crump on July 7th, 1976, in Flint, MI. During his early childhood, he went to elementary schools in Michigan and Arizona but attended Millington throughout his Jr/Sr High School years graduating in 1994. As a child, he grew up with two brothers, two sisters, and his favorite Uncle Jimmy, who all meant the world to him. He loved to annoy his mom & sisters, yet still protect them, and he loved hunting with his dad & brothers in St. Helen. John also spent many hours in the garage with his dad learning everything about cars and just life in general. He kept good grades throughout school and loved playing football. Coach Furno, whom John looked up to with so much respect and love, says that John was a lion among men on the football field.

After graduation, John went to college for a bit, but decided to find himself elsewhere and got his CDL to drive trucks for PepsiCo. He worked there for many years, but then decided to go back to college to get his Associates Degree in Applied Science in Automotive Service Technology. He started working for, then eventually took over Crump's Auto for many years, the garage he grew up in and where his dad taught him so much about life. He also got certified to become a Master Automotive Technician. While finishing up his degree he closed the garage, and had the opportunity to work his dream job for a few years. He started working at 1Life Fitness as a personal trainer. That truly was his passion. He loved teaching, inspiring, and helping people learn how to reach their fitness goals and dreams, and at the same time reaching his own. He was the absolute best at it. Once John received his degree from Delta College, he went on to work at different dealerships managing their service departments. Then, after years of working in customer service, John decided that he wanted to go back to the "less stressful" jobs on the open road to drive trucks again.

John met the truest love of his life, his soul mate, Robyn, when he was just out of high school. They instantly became friends, which led to a best friendship for years before love even bloomed. The rest was the most loyal, raw, and romantic love story in the making. John and Robyn were married on his birthday in 2003, and their best and most cherished moment was when their son, his namesake, Johnny Edgar Crump IV was born in 2005. John was a very proud father and husband in every way. He was so excited to be a dad and teach Johnny everything, and to watch him grow into a respectable young man, which he did. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his little family. John was always looking forward to spending time with them, and he wanted to protect them forever. Johnny and Robyn were his whole world.

John had many hobbies throughout his life. Aside from being a skilled mechanic, manager, truck driver, and personal trainer, he also loved to volunteer his time to his neighbors and to his community. By coaching multiple sports, helping out wherever during any sporting event, town events, disaster clean-up, anything at all he would do no questions asked. He would help anyone in any way that was needed. His hobbies started to grow out towards lifting for fun to general health and aesthetic as well. He also loved being outdoors, hiking, fishing with his wife and son, taking joyrides with his wife on his motorcycle, sky gazing, and even starting new hobbies that he didn't get time to explore much of yet, like golfing with his son.

John was a very proud man who was loved and respected by so many on so many levels. John's friends and extended family knew they could always count on him for anything. He could get anyone's attention just by entering a room or just by being present. He was brave, motivated, kind-hearted, protective, loving, hard, but one of the softest souls you'd ever meet. John will be missed and loved until the end of time.
