Kenneth "Mike" Day

Mr. Kenneth (Mike) Day of Vassar, MI passed away early Wednesday morning January 24, 2024, at the age of 73.

Mike was born in Northville, Michigan on September 18, 1950, and was the son of the late Earl & Norma (Hoffman) Day.  Mike was known by many in Vassar. He loved coloring pictures and making small crafts for the loved ones in his life.  Mike was a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers and loved to talk about them with anyone that was willing.  Mike was active in the Juanita church for several years and looked forward to Sundays to be able to attend. He was always outside doing yard work, riding his bike, and helping around the house.   

Mike leaves to cherish his memory are his siblings; Joyce Auernhammer, Roger (Ruthann) Caldwell, Lyla (Charlie) Fabbro, Bertha Sterling, several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Earl, Norma, Day and Margaret Day, siblings, Richard Day, Carol Ingle, Judy Hopper, Sue Bentley, and Kenneth Caldwell.

Mike's family will receive friends on Tuesday January 30, 2024, 12:00 until 2:00 pm at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Vassar. Mike’s funeral will also be held Tuesday, beginning at 2:00 pm. A private burial will be held in Plymouth, Michigan at a later date. There will also be a dinner following the services that the family would like to extend an invitation to join them at Lyla & Charlie Fabbro Dinner [3091 Waltan Rd. Vassar, MI].

Memorial gifts of remembrance in Mike’s memory can be directed to the Special Olympic Association.
