VASSAR, formerly MARSHALL – Mr. Kenneth Charles “Ken” Strohm, aged 78, passed away on April 21, 2026, at Fisher Senior Care & Rehab Center in Mayville, Michigan, surrounded by his loving family.

Ken was born on April 20, 1948, in Marshall, Michigan, to Ivan & Eleanor (née Coats) Strohm. He grew up alongside his siblings and graduated from Marshall High School with the class of 1966. Afterward, he honorably served in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1971 as an assault boat engineer and firefighter. Upon his return home from the service, he worked with Granger in their logistics department until his retirement in 2002. Further, he served as a volunteer firefighter with Greenwood Township in Lewiston, MI. Ken was gifted with a wonderful singing voice and was a part of several church choirs, the Harmony Meisters Barbershop Quartet in Gaylord, Michigan, and loved to play the trombone. He enjoyed time spent outdoors and all that Michigan had to offer. A man of faith, Ken was currently a member of Vassar Baptist Church. Above all, his happiest moments were spent with his family and he cherished the time that he spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his daughters, Patty (Rob) Hadden, and Megan Dillehay; grandchildren: Becca (Tyler) Cooper, Caitie Hadden, Dylan (Bailey) Dillehay, Branden (Kelsey) Dillehay, and Kaylee Dillehay; great-grandchildren: Brennen, Reid, Sawyer, Emeryk, Levi, Evie, Greyson, and Ty Brooks; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ken is reunited with his sons, Jason Strohm, and Clayton Strohm; siblings: Joan (the late Alan) Bishop, Carol Scott, and Allen Strohm; parents, Ivan & Eleanor Strohm; niece, Mary Ellen Reynolds; and nephew, James Scott.

Funeral services for Ken will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Vassar Baptist Church (5880 Frankenmuth Rd, Vassar, MI 48768); the family will receive visitors at church from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Pastor Tony Barber will officiate. Ken will be laid to rest privately in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
