Linda Lou Hamilton-Jasman of Midland, formerly of Richville and Sebewaing, was unexpectedly called to rest at her home on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from an apparent cardiac event. She was 76. Linda was born on March 10, 1949, in Pigeon, Michigan, the eldest child of the late Arnold and Doris (Walter) Kundinger. She was raised on the family farm, which instilled in her the strong work ethic she carried throughout her life. She graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1967 and from Delta College in 1971 with an Associate Degree in Business Studies. Linda held diverse jobs during her working years, including child care provider, pharmacy technician, bookkeeper, and lastly warehouse storekeeper with the State of Michigan Department of Corrections for 19 years until her retirement in 2015. On May 5, 1973, Linda married William Hamilton, and they had four children together. On November 30, 2002, she married Edward Jasman, sharing many happy years before his passing in 2019.
Above all, Linda was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose love, guidance, and steady presence shaped the lives of her children in lasting ways. She cherished time spent with family and friends and found joy in simple moments, like visiting around the kitchen table. She loved traveling, watching baseball, and playing games, including euchre, cribbage, bingo, fast track, and hand and foot. Linda had a special gift for making celebrations memorable, lovingly baking and decorating cakes for her children, nieces, nephews, and others who were dear to her—each one made with care and remembered long afterward. Linda also enjoyed live music, particularly polkas and waltzes, and in her later years when she couldn't dance as she once did, she enjoyed dancing from her chair. Linda had a love for Jesus and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Vassar.
Those who knew Linda will remember her as dependable, steady, and kind-hearted. With her friendly, outgoing nature, she connected with people wherever life took her. She carried the values from her upbringing on the farm into every aspect of life—offering a helping hand without hesitation, showing up when it mattered, and taking pride in even the smallest tasks done well. Her presence was a source of strength and reassurance to those fortunate enough to call her family or friend. She will be deeply missed.
Linda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Barb and Robert McMillan, son Don Hamilton and grandson Landon Hamilton, son and daughter-in-law Chris and Sarah Hamilton, sisters Carolyn Keipinger, Lois Kroll, Evelyn Stringer, and Janice (Arnold) Brown, sister-in-law Vicki Kundinger, life-long friends Brenda Smith and Angie Gies, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband Ed, Linda was preceded in death by a stillborn son, David Hamilton, brother Duane Kundinger, daughter-in-law Delana Hamilton, and brother-in-law Jeffrey Kroll.
Linda's family will receive visitors from 4-7 PM on Sunday, July 6, at Hanlin Funeral Home in Vassar. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, July 7, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Vassar, with additional visitation at the church starting at 10 AM. Pastor Matthew Arnold will officiate. A private burial will take place at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Sebewaing.
