VASSAR – Mrs. Lorine Petzold, aged 90, our dedicated, caring, faithful, and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Covenant Glen in Frankenmuth, Michigan.
Lorine was born on March 24, 1935, in Frankenmuth, the daughter of Arthur & Lydia Knoll (née Weiss). She was raised on the family homestead alongside her siblings and attended Frankenmuth schools. On May 31, 1958, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Petzold. Together they shared countless memories, raised their three children, and celebrated over 54 years of marriage before Bob passed away in December 2012. Lorine was a dedicated dairy farmer alongside Bob and homemaker. She was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington and was a part of the Dorcas Society, altar guild, and the church bazaar. Her kitchen was filled with the smell of her famous butterhorns and pretzels. During the holidays she hosted wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for her family. She and Bob enjoyed traveling around the United States and had an especially memorable trip to Alaska. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing blankets for the church’s world relief ministry. Above all, Lorine’s happiest moments were spent with her family and her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Lorine is forever loved by her children: Karen (Randy) Graham, James Petzold, Larry Petzold; grandchildren: Michael (Jennifer) Graham, Rachelle (Shaun) Cooper, Jena (Cameron) Garidini, Jared (fiancée, Kinde Obendorfer) Petzold, Kourtnei (Doug) St. Souver, and Zachary (Heather) Petzold; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Graham, and Nicholas Graham; sister, Marian Mossner; brother, Edwin (Susan) Knoll; sisters-in-law, Lois Knoll, Norene Trappa, and Janett Dowling; brother-in-law, Ron (JoAnne) Petzold; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
She is reunited with her husband, Bob Petzold; parents, Arthur & Lydia Knoll; brother, Martin Knoll; sister-in-law, Wilma (the late Mervin) Knoll; brothers-in-law, Earl Mossner, Joseph Trappa, and Hilbert Petzold.
