Louis Gilbert

Louis A. Gilbert of Millington passed away early Friday morning August 2, 2013 while at the Genesys Hospice Center in Goodrich Michigan, Louis was 88.

The son of Irving & Ruth (Brewer) Gilbert Louis was born April 8, 1925 in Flushing Michigan. He retired in 1986 from the Operators Engineering Local 324 after 50 years of employment as a heavy equipment operator.

Louis leaves his son Mark Gilbert, a granddaughter Alicia Harris, his step-children; Dana Jill and husband Bill Earl, Lori and husband Larry Gere, Scott Sandersfield, Evelyn Sandersfield, and Shelly Cobb; Grandchildren: Melanie and Kristen Gere, Rachel, Tim and Emily Sandersfield, Jack and Emma Sandersfield, Amy Viano, and Andrew Cobb; Great-Grandchildren Amanda Haught, Victoria Lynk, Braydin Powell and Torrey Sandersfield; as well as other extended family and friends. Louis is preceded in death by his wife Ema Jean (Emmy), a brother Ernie Gilbert, and a daughter Kathy Gill, step-son Jack David Sandersfield, and granddaughter Melissa Lynk.
