VASSAR - Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother "G.G.", daughter, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 12, 2026 at the age of 83 years.

Madelyn Genevieve Kilbourne was born on April 26, 1943, to Vern and Genevieve (Cooper) Reynolds in Saginaw, Michigan. She met the love of her life, Gerald "Jug" Kilbourne, at the Tuscola Baseball Field while her dad was umpiring a game. They spent 66 wonderful years together and raised 4 daughters in Vassar on their farm. She was very talented and loved crafting, she paid great attention to detail and made her girls' wedding flowers. She loved spending time with family and friends and hosted family reunions and parties at their home. She was a devoted caregiver to her parents, and she loved playing bingo and fishing.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald "Jug" Kilbourne; children: Dawn (Scott) Wallace, Sandra (Steven) Schreiner, Michelle (Steve) Schmitzer, and Cris (Dan) Schluckbier; grandchildren: Joel (Roberta) Wallace, Jacob Wallace, Taylor (Austin) Felske, Cassandra (Andrew O'Connell) Schreiner, Cody (Michelle) Schreiner, Jordan (Keylah) Kilbourne, Emma (James) Hahn, Ellie (Steven) Nichols, Jenna (Gerid Harrell) Schluckbier, Jessica Schluckbier; great-grandchildren: Kennedy Kilbourne, Britton, Aurora, and Sawyer Hahn, Henry and Charles Schreiner, Peyton and Jensen Felske, Brinley and Bidelia Wallace, and Piper Wallace; special niece, Wendy Bollman; Vassar Comfort Care family and friends; and sisters, Jackie (Jerry) Heronemus, and Marilyn (Ron) Morel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Reynolds; sister, Carolyn (the late Russ) Buzzard; in-laws, Milton and Genevieve Kilbourne; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Barb Kilbourne; and sister-in-law, Victoria Kilbourne.

Special thanks to her family and staff at Vassar Comfort Care for serving as devoted and tireless caregivers, ensuring Maddie remained comfortable and at home surrounded by love. We are also incredibly grateful to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Great Lakes Place and A&D Hospice for their kindness, dedication, and the exceptional care they gave Mom.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Vassar Comfort Care for the purchase of an awning for the patio in Mom's memory.
