MILLINGTON – Mrs. Mildred M. Keinath, age 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 22, 2026.
Mildred was born in Frankenmuth, Michigan, on March 11, 1933, to the late Henry and Hulda Reif. She was confirmed at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in 1947. She met Leon Keinath and they were united in marriage on August 8, 1953. They celebrated 56 years of marriage before his passing in July 2010. After marriage, they began farming in Millington and started Elkhorn Farms. Mildred enjoyed baking, feeding the birds, playing cards and dominoes, and doing word searches. She liked to garden and care for her many houseplants; she had a green thumb and could make dirt grow. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and traveling the world with Leon; Australia was one of her favorite trips. Mildred was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington.
Mildred is survived by her children; Cindy (Todd) Jones, Terry Keinath, Roger (Terri Jo) Keinath, Amy (James) List, and Aaron (Connie) Keinath, twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, and son, Randy. She was the last surviving family member of her family being preceded in death by her parents and siblings Hilda (Norman) Sohn, Arline (Ray) Keinath, Freida Reif, Roy (Wanda) Reif, Marion (Albert) Weber, and Edward Reif. She was also preceded in death by Leon’s two sisters and two brothers along with their spouses.
Funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington (4941 Center Street, Millington, MI 48746); visitation at church will begin at 12:00 PM and last until the time of service. Afterward, Mildred will be laid to rest in Millington Township Cemetery next to her husband, Leon. Rev. Jim Bruner will officiate. Family will welcome visitors at Hanlin Funeral Home – Millington from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
The family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice, Nancy, Emily, Liz, and Peter for the care provided to Mildred.
