Delores Frances Irving of Millington, formerly of Detroit, passed away Friday March 18, 2011 while at the Tuscola County Medical Center in Caro MI, Delores was 84.

Delores was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 19, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Robert & Freida (Schech) Irving. Delores was employed for many years as a Jeweler and Diamond Setter working for Burr-Patterson Jewelers and at one time, for J.L.Hudson Department Store in downtown Detroit. Her most recent affiliation was with Haffner Jewelers in Royal Oak where she retired in 1979. Delores enjoyed her retirement and moved to Millington to settle on the beautiful Murphy Lake. She loved playing golf, bowling, photography, and in her younger years, hunting with her father. She also loved to travel; one of her favorite places to visit was the Wisconsin Dells. Delores was a member of the 3-D Camera Club. While living in Detroit she was a member of Covenant Lutheran Church, and when she settled in Millington she became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Delores leaves to cherish her memories her sister & brother in-law Gladys & Keith Phelps Sr. nephews; Keith & Kathy Phelps Jr. & family, Kurt & Laurie Phelps & family, Kerry & Becky Phelps & family, niece Kathy & Steve Maczko & family, close & dear friends Burt & Doris Kenard, and Dan & Jessie Knowland, as well as other family, friends and neighbors. Besides her parents Delores is preceded in death by long time friend Marilyn Collard in July of 2009. Service Information

In keeping with Delore's wishes cremation has taken place. A life celebration service was held on Saturday April 9th, 2011 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church. Pastor James Bruner shared a message and closing prayers. Memorial gifts of remembrance in memory of Delores can be directed to Alzheimer's Association or to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
