Mr. Donald Wonfor

Mr. Donald J. (Don) Wonfor of Millington, Michigan formerly of Sterling Heights, Michigan passed away early Friday afternoon July 31, 2015 at his residence with family at his side. Don was 64.

Don was the son of the late James and Florence (Dupuie) Wonfor and was born on March 18, 1951 in Highland Park, Michigan. On November 14, 1992 Don married Karen Brandtner, and together they have celebrated 22 years of marriage. Don retired for the Detroit News as a district manager. He was a member of the Richfield Conservation club; Don loved to leisurely fish on Murphy Lake, he loved traveling around the lake on his golf cart visiting with all the lake neighbors. The Murphy lake area was his happy place, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends on the lake, boating and taking the grandkids tubing.

Don leaves his wife Karen. Two daughters and son in-laws; Angelia her husband Mike Jensen, Carrie her husband Felix Rivera, a step-daughter Christine Massey and her fiancé Shawn. Don leaves also eight grandchildren; Mackenzie, Morgan, Rachel, Clayton, Scotty, Bobbie Lynn, Robby, and Kenny, six great grandchildren, Alivia, Scotty, Mathew, Justin, Caleigh, and Landon, four borthers; Bill, Mark, David, and Paul Wonfor, four sisters; Sandy Gasparotto, Carol Webber, Diane Woloson, and Laurie Wonfor. Don leaves; also several nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Don is preceded in death by his parents.

The family has honored Don's request and cremation has taken place. There will be a time of sharing and a celebration of Don's life. The family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Wednesday August 5, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, at 3:00 pm a tribute to Don will begin. Memorial gifts in Don's memory maybe directed to a charity of one's choice.
