Mr. Gary Jones

Mr. Gary K. Jones of Millington, MI passed away Tuesday September 27, 2016 while at St. Mary’s Medical Center of Saginaw, Gary was 74.

Gary was born on October 14, 1941 and was the son of the late Maynard and Muriel (Root) Jones. On June 30, 1961 Gary married Janice Slieff, together he and Janice celebrated 53 years of marriage, before Janice’s passing in November of 2014. Gary retired after several years of employment at the V-8 Plant of General Motors. Gary was an avid squirrel hunter, he lived for the fall time of the year and would work hard through-out the year so he could take the month of October off to hunt squirrel.

Gary leaves his children; daughter Tanya Jones (Charlie Barden) and son Gary K. Jones II, he leaves also seven grandchildren, a great-grandson, two brothers and sisters in-law; Glenn and wife Diane Jones, and George and wife Christine Jones. Gary also leaves nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Besides his wife and parents, Gary is also preceded in death by a daughter Michele.

The Jones Family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Thursday from 3:00 pm to 8:00pm and also for a brief time on Friday from 10:00 am until the service begins. Funeral services for Gary will be at the Hanlin Funeral Home on Friday September 30, 2016 at 11:00 am. The burial will follow at the Gunnell Cemetery in Arbela Township.
