Mr. Harold Rueger

Mr. Harold H. Rueger of Millington, MI passed away late Wednesday afternoon September 26, 2018, Harold was 83.

Harold was born on October 2, 1934 in Akron Township, Michigan and was the son of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Bachmann) Rueger. On October 10, 1959 Harold married Miss Betty Worth and together they have celebrated 58 years of marriage. Harold retired from Chevrolet Bay City of General Motors and was employed with them for 34 years in their Financial Dept. Harold was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and he served on many boards and committees. In 1968 he joined the Millington Lions Club and served as financial secretary and treasurer for many years.  Harold also served his community on the Millington Township Board serving as a trustee, and serving on the Fire Board of Millington – Arbela Township Fire Dept. Harold loved to golf, he also had a passion for gardening and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed people and helping them in any way he could. Harold had a smile that would light up the room. Though he’ll be missed his gentleness and kindness will be remembered by many.

Harold leaves his wife Betty. He also leaves two children: Tim (Dawn) Rueger, Tracee Jones (Clint) and five grandchildren. Harold also leaves a sister Mildred Strauch and a sister in-law Shirley Rueger as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. Besides his parents Harold is preceded in death by a brother Walter.

The Rueger family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Sunday September 30, 2018 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm. On Monday Harold will lie in state at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington from 12:00 pm until the service begins. Funeral services for Harold will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday October 1, 2018 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church. The burial will follow at the Millington Township Cemetery. Pastor James Bruner will deliver the funeral message and closing committal prayer at the cemetery. Memorial Gifts of Remembrance can be directed to the St. Paul Lutheran Church/ Building Fund.
