June Rupright (Mom) of Clio, MI passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 while at U of M Medical Center in Ann Arbor, MI from injuries caused by the same accident; she was 70.
We grieve with each other’s family and friends due to this tragic incident.
Dad was the son of the late Harry and Valeria (Beaulieu) Rupright and was born in Wexford County, MI on March 4, 1935. He grew up in Germask, MI, became a Christian in his early 20's and married Doris Virginia Sultz Of Gulliver, MI on December 30, 1955. They lived most of their married lives in the Clio/Millington area where they lovingly raised us, their four children. Our parents taught us so many important life skills, built morals in our hearts mostly by their actions, helped anyone in need and faithfully took us to Mount Morris Mennonite Church through our growing up years.
Mom was the daughter of Dorthy Broughton and Juliuis Kretchmer and was born in Flint, MI on October 13, 1946. She grew up in Flint, MI. Mom was such a loving and caring woman, her spirit could literally light up any room and everyone she came in contact with loved her. She could talk to a stranger and make them feel like family; that’s just how Mom was. Mom was the true definition of hard work and instilled that into my brother and I. Mom gave us many tools to navigate throughout life but most importantly she taught us the importance of taking care of family and being there for one another.
Dad was a good provider working as a carpenter until the late 1970's at which time he was employed by General Motors until his retirement in 1998. Although Dad only had an 8th. grade education, he became an amateur theologian and author (although he wouldn’t admit it). He spent much of his personal time studying the chronology of the four Gospels and renovating his MG automobile.
Mom was a woman of many talents but her true passion was for babies, she loved them so much that she became an avid photographer in her late 30’s and managed many stores in the Michigan and Ohio area. She worked as a photographer until she retired in her late 50’s in which she then took up traveling.
He lost his first wife in 1998 and Dad was a widower until he married the lovely and graceful June Infer in 2003. Dad and Mom attended Pineview Mennonite Church in Vassar, MI where they worshiped the Lord and served their community.
Dad leaves his children Beth Gleason and husband James, Nora Edgar and husband Gary and Lane Rupright and wife Debbie, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides Doris and his parents, Dad was preceded in death by daughter Rachel Rupright, brothers William and Murl Rupright and sister Marjorie Losey.
Mom leaves behind her two sisters and brother Sandy, Donna, and Elmer; her two children Pamela and Steve. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren Cedric, Kailey, Nicole, Brittany, Aleah, Andre, Jada Lynn and Steven and two great grandchildren. Mom was preceded in death by her sister Connie.
