Linton Clare Atkins of Spring Hope North Carolina, formerly of Otisville& Millington MI passed away suddenly Wednesday Dec. 21, 2011 at his residence, Clare was 84.

Linton Clare Atkins the son of the late Linton & Marion (Dolliver) Atkins was born in Millington MI on February 8, 1927. Clare worked for 36 years for the Buick Motor Division of General Motors in Flint MI. he also worked the family farm for many years. After he retired he along with his Maude moved to Spring Hope North Carolina.

Clare leaves his family; daughters, Marie & husband Stan Williamson, Judy Atkins, Nancy & husband Tim Penn, Patricia (Pat) & husband Wayne Williamson, Pauline & husband Dale Hartzell, two sons, Lenny Atkins, and Mark & wife Teresa Atkins, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, three sisters, Kathleen Verrette, Margaret Simon, and Irene Fellows , as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Clare is preceded in death by his wife Maude Ruth Atkins in Jan.-2010, two sisters Edith Kennedy, and Marilyn Myers, two brothers George & Donald Atkins.

Service Information

The Atkins family will receive friends on Wednesday Dec. 28, 2011 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and also on Thursday morning from 10:00 am until the services begin. Funeral services will be on Thursday Dec. 29, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Hanlin Funeral Home with the burial to follow at the Flint Memorial Park Cemetery in Mt. Morris MI.
