Mr. Norwood Sergent

Mr. Norwood R. Sergent of Millington passed away early Saturday evening January 29, 2011 while at the Genesys Hospice Center in Goodrich Michigan, Norwood was 86.

Norwood R. Sergent was born in Millington Michigan on September 4, 1924 and was the son of Earl & Edna (Mapes) Sergent. He went into the US - Navy and served our country during WW-II. On January 31, of 1948 Norwood married his wife of 62 years Wanda DeLand. Wanda preceded him in death on October 7, 2010. Norwood was retired from General Motors Corp. retiring as a Supervisor. Norwood also served the Millington community by serving several years on the Millington - Arbela Twps. Fire Department.

Norwood leaves his three children; daughters and son in-law ; Deborah Greanias, Pamela & Paul Steele, son and daughter in-law; Robert (Bob) & Karen Sergent, 8-grandchildren, 11-great grandchildren, brothers; Earl, Clyde and Don Sergent. Besides his wife Norwood was preceded in death by a son in-law Gregory Greanias, and a sister Mrs. Lois Glady. Funeral services for Norwood were held at the Hanlin Funeral Home on Saturday February 5, 2011. Tthe burial to followed at the Millington Twp. Cemetery.
