Mr. Raymond Putman

It is with great sadness that the family of Raymond (Ray) Daniel Putman of Vassar, Michigan announce his passing on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the age of 69 years.

Ray was born in Caro, Michigan on July 15, 1949 to the late Jess and Jesse (Lester) Putman. Ray's mom passed away when he was 5 years old, and upon her death he was welcomed into the loving home of his mom's twin sister, Bessie, and her husband, Bernard Coselman.  Ray became the new little brother raised in a house with four protective and instantly devoted big sisters.

Ray graduated from Millington High School in 1969, and retired in 1999 from the AC/Spark Plug Division of General Motors after 30 years of service.

On June 10, 1972 Ray married Brenda Diehl, and together he and Brenda celebrated 46 years of marriage. Ray and Brenda were blessed with two children, Teri (and Greg) Randall and Ray (and Bobbi) Putman and five adoring grandchildren, Jake, Jordyn, Sam, Caroline, and Lilly.

Ray loved playing cards with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed teaching (and beating) his kids and grandkids at cribbage. He liked cooking meals and grilling, playing pool and watching westerns.  He fried the best summer squash, made the best meatloaf, chili and goulash, and was the master at rocking his grandbabies to sleep. Spending time with his family was a passion in his life.

Ray leaves behind his siblings; Bunny & (Jim), Roberta, Alana, Tom, Chuck & (Sue), Erv & (Betty), Sandy, Monica, Richard, Gracie, several nieces, nephews, extended family members and many friends. In addition to his biological parents, Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard & Bessie Coselman, and his siblings Janet and Jim.

The family will receive friends at the Tuscola Community Church at 8956 Church Drive, Tuscola, MI 48768, on Saturday, August 18th at 10:00 am.  A celebration of Ray's life will begin at 11:00 am followed by a luncheon at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to consider a memorial gift in Ray's memory to the Tuscola Community Church.
