Mr. Richard (Dick) Love of Millington passed away early Wednesday morning December 3, 2014 at his Millington residence surrounded by his family, Dick was 82.

Richard was born on December 2, of 1932 in Capac, Michigan and was the son of the late Clarence and Nina (Sharpe) Love. Dick served our country during the Korean War in the Us-Army. On December 24, of 1952 Dick married Ruth Alt. Together Dick and Ruth celebrated 58 years of marriage before Ruth passed away in July of 2010. Dick retired from Super Foods /Nash-Finch after 30 years of employment. Dick was also the owner-operator of the Weaponry Shop. For many years Dick has taught many in personal protection, gun safety, and concealed weapons classes, he was NRA certified to teach gun classes, for the NRA certification classes Dick served as the Sergeant of Arms.

Dick leaves his family; children, Mike Love, Jerry and wife Janet Love, Jeanne and husband Kurt Fritz, Rob and wife Deanna Love, and Chuck and wife Lynette Love. He leaves also eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, one brother, and three sisters, and several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Service Information

Funeral service for Dick were held on Saturday December 6, 2014 at the Hanlin Funeral Home. The burial followed at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. Pastor Bob Cholette delivered the funeral message and eulogy. Services at the cemetery were concluded with Military Honors by the Conrad-Wager & Keene American Legion Post 164 of Millington. Memorial Gifts of Remembrance can be directed to Hartland Hospice.
