Mr. Richard Maxson

Mr. Richard D. (Dick) Maxson of the Mayville and Millington areas passed away early Friday morning April 19, 2013 at his residence, Dick was 74.

Richard Dean Maxson was born in Otisville Michigan on October 11, 1938 and was the son of the late Amasa & May (Hursh) Maxson. On July 6, 1957 Dick married Miss Gwenlyn Mae Bradshaw, and together Dick and Gwenlyn have celebrated 55 years of marriage. Dick was employed with Operating Engineers Local 324 and worked with many area gravel companies as a heavy equipment operator. Dick loved being outdoors working on his old ford tractor, working on his honey bee hives, and most of all sharing time with family.

Dick leaves his wife Gwenlyn, his children, Les & Diane Maxson, Richard & Roxanne Maxson, Betty Maxson, Deanna & Mike Beckman, Tina & Tom Marcellis, Peggy & Steve Wipf, William Maxson, and Debbie & Terry Maiers, 27 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, three sisters and a brother in-law, Norma Gibbs, Emma Jeanne Johnson, and Rosalie & Clarence Moorhouse, and several nieces, nephews and other extended family. Besides his parents Dick is also preceded in death by a son Rickey Allen, a daughter Joan Anne, two grandsons Tyler Haggerty,and Jonathon Maiers, five brothers: Grant, Amasa(Jr.), John (Jack), Donald, and Robert,and three sisters: Dorothy Jameson, Gertrude Genevieve Ryerson, and Edith Arlene Smith.

Service Information

A time of sharing was held Tuesday April 23, 2013 from at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington. The family has honored Dick's request and cremation has taken place.
