Mrs. Barbara Baxter

Mrs. Barbara (Ingram) Baxter of the Millington, Vassar and Tuscola, Michigan areas passed away early Saturday morning May 9, 2015 at her residence. Barbara was 81.

Barbara was born in Flint, Michigan on August 3rd of 1933 and was the daughter of the late Samuel & Bessie (Thompson) Ingram. At a young age, she along with her parents and siblings moved to Millington, and Barb graduated from Millington High School. On December 21st of 1951, Barb married Roland Baxter, and together she and Roland celebrated nearly 57 years of marriage before his death in September of 2008. In Barb's younger years she worked for a time at AC/Spark-Plug Division of General Motors. After about 10 years with AC she left the auto industry and went to work in Frankenmuth at Bronner's Christmas Wonderland. She retired from Bronner's as a Sales Clerk with 15 years of service. Barbara has also been a member of the Tuscola Community Church for the past 50 years.

Barbara leaves; her children, three sons and two daughter's in-law. Terry and Cindy Baxter, Daniel Baxter, and Jeffrey and Diane Baxter. In addition to her children; Barbara leaves her eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, three sisters and a brother in-law; Alice Roach, Martha Fuester, and Nancy and husband George Davidson, as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family. Besides her husband and parents, Barb is also preceded in death by two brothers; David and James Ingram.

The Baxter family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. There will be a brief visitation just an hour prior to the funeral services. Funeral services for Barb will be on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at 11:00 am at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, with the burial to follow after the services. Pastor Greg Shepard will deliver the funeral message and the closing prayer at the cemetery. Barbara will be laid to rest at the Tuscola Township Cemetery in Tuscola, Michigan. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the Tuscola Community Church or to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
