Mrs. Betty Jolly

Mrs. Betty J. (Hanlin) Jolly a life long resident of Millington, MI passed away late Sunday afternoon at her Millington residence. Betty was 93.

Betty was born in Millington, MI on September 23, 1924, and was the daughter of the late William (Bill) & Florence (Conner) Hanlin. Betty graduated from Millington High School after which she went on to attend Tuscola County Normal and received her teaching certificate. After graduating from Tuscola County Normal in 1944 Betty in listed in the US- Marines during WW-II. After returning from the Marines, Betty worked in Detroit at the Hudson Department Store as a clerk. On November 27, 1947 Betty married Thomas Jolly Jr, and together they celebrated 52 years of marriage before Tom passed away in July of 1999.

Betty leaves her family. Her four children; Andrea and Steve Sayles, Jan Schmidt, Thomas Jolly III, and Tim and Tina Jolly. She leaves also several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a brother Charles (Jarvis) Hanlin. Betty also leaves several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Besides her parents and husband. Betty is also preceded in death by; a brother Jerry W. Hanlin in 2015, two sister in-laws; Ardith Hanlin in1999, Marion Hanlin in 2010, a nephew Jerry Hanlin in 2014.

The Jolly family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Thursday from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm and for a brief time Friday morning for 10:00 am until the services begin. Funeral services for Betty will be held at 11:00 am Friday January 19, 2018 at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI. The burial will follow at the Millington Township Cemetery. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the Conrad-Wager & Keene American Legion Post 164 of Millington, MI.
