Mrs. Edna Keinath

Edna Martha Keinath of Vassar & Millington passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday December 30, 2012, Edna was 92.

Edna was born to the late William & Etta (Mossner) Reif of Frankenmuth on December 10, 1920. She married Carl C. Keinath on September 7, 1941 in Frankenmuth; together she and Carl celebrated 67 years of marriage before Carl passed on August 18 of 2009. Edna & Carl dairy farmed together for many years and she continued to help on the farm after Carl retired. Edna was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, serving many years on the Dorcas funeral dinner committee and quilting with her lady friends at church. She also volunteered many years at the Bethesda Thrift Store; Edna was an avid reader and a devoted Tigers baseball fan.

Edna leaves to cherish her memory three daughters and their spouses: Roxanne & Vernon Daenzer of Frankenmuth, Bonnie & Richard Wiacek of Vassar, and Pauline & Keith David of Carrollton Township; also 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law; Irma Reif of Frankenmuth, and Mildred Keinath of Millington. Besides her husband and parents Edna is also preceded in death by a brother Marvin Reif.

Service Information

Friends may call at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Wednesday January 2, 2013 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral services for Edna will be on Thursday Jan. 3, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington. Pastor James Bruner will deliver the funeral message and closing prayers at the cemetery. The burial will follow at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. Edna will lie in state at the Church on Thursday from 12:00 pm until services begin.
