Mrs.Freida Sheridan

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother received the ultimate Thanksgiving blessing. She was welcomed by her Lord and Savior into heaven passing away peacefully early Thursday evening while at the Cartwright Center in Saginaw, Freida was 94.

Freida was born in Bay City Michigan on October 20, 1917 and was the daughter of Frederick & Pauline (Ott) Spangler. On July 13, 1935 Freida married Chester George VanAlstine, he has preceded her in death in May of 1994. She remarried in February of 1997 to Darrell Sheridan, Darrell has also prceded her in death in October of 2005.
Freida loved spending time with family and friends, she also in her later years loved feeding and watching the birds out here window. She was a long time member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church of Vassar, and has been a long time Vassar resident until moving to Frankenmuth MI. Freida also use to winter in the Palmetto - Bradenton Florida areas.

Fredia leaves her daughter and son in-law Barbara (Barb) and Gus Miller, six grandchildren, Gayle Miller, Connie & Mike Roberts, Jim & Sonya Miller, Susan & Steve Bertoia, Brian & Lynette VanAlstine, and Steven & Joelle VanAlstine , 11 great-grandchildren Michael, Kenny, Avery, Maria, Sarah, Jessica, Joshua, Luke, Ethan, Blake, and Kylie,daughter in-law Barbara VanAlstine, sister Emma& Husband Bill Belejack, two brothers and sisters in-law; Henry & Arlene Clouse, and John & Myrna Clouse. Fredia leaves also many wonderful nieces, nephews and other extended family. Besides her two husbands she is also preceded in death by two sons Philip and Harold VanAlstine, two brothers Harold and Reynold Spangler and their wives Betty & Eunice. Funeral services were held Tuesday Nov. 29, 2011 at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Vassar MI. Pastor James Naumann and Pastor James Ploucher delivered the funeral message and the closing prayers. The burial followed at the Riverside Cemetery in Vassar MI. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the St. Lukes Lutheran Church, or to the Rainbow Connection.
