Mrs. Hilda Schmidt

July 20, 1923 — December 24, 2012

Mrs. Hilda I (Petzold) Schmidt a lifelong Millington resident passed from our world into God's Kingdom early Monday morning December 24, 2012 while at the Covenant Health Care Center - Cooper Campus in Saginaw, Hilda was 89.

Hilda was the daughter of the late Edward & Clare (Lindauer) Petzold and was born on July 20, 1923 in Millington Michigan. On June 7, 1942 Hilda married her husband of 54 years Mr. Herman Schmidt, and Herman has preceded her in death in January of 1996. Hilda was a lifelong member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church; she was also at one time very active volunteer with the Bethesda Thrift Store in Saginaw. Hilda worked hard at raising her family and worked alongside of her husband in the day to day operation of the Schmidt Farm.

Hilda leaves her family to cherish her many memories; children, Linda Schmidt, Ed & wife Sandra Schmidt, Dennis & Betty Schmidt, James & wife Elizabeth Schmidt, and JoAnn & husband Howard McGraw, ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, a sister and brother in-law, Irene & husband Art Weber, a brother and sister in-law, Wayne & Jeanette Petzold, a sister in-law Marion Petzold, as well as several nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. Besides her husband and parents Hilda is also preceded in death by, a daughter Jeanette, son Ronald, a brother and his wife Don & Pat Petzold, and brothers Clarence, Harold, and Elmer.

Service Information

Funeral services were held on Saturday Dec. 29, 2012 at the Hanlin Funeral Home. The burial followed at the Millington Twp. Cemetery; Pastor James Bruner delivered the funeral message and closing prayers at the cemetery.
