Mrs. Loraine Petzold

Mrs. Loraine H. (Daenzer) Petzold a lifetime Millington resident passed from our world into God’s Kingdom early Monday afternoon September 11, 2017 while at St. Mary’s of Saginaw. Loraine was 90.

Loraine was born in Millington Township on January 25, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Carl and Frieda (Schnell) Daenzer. On June 12, 1948 Loraine married Otto Petzold and together they celebrated 50 years of marriage before Otto passed away in March of 1998. Loraine grew up in St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she went to work in the school kitchen as a cook, and eventually became head cook. She retired form St. Paul Lutheran School after 30 years serving generations of kids their lunch. She also was at one time very active in the church choir.

Loraine leaves her family to cherish her many memories. Connie and Ken Damm, David and Carrie Petzold, Pam and Carl Henne, and Dennis Petzold. She leaves also; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and a sister in-law Arlene Daenzer. Loraine also leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Besides her husband and parents Loraine is also preceded in death by a brother Ralph Daenzer.

The Petzold family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington, MI on Thursday September 14, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and for a brief time at the church on Friday from 12:00 pm just prior to services. Funeral services for Loraine will be on Friday September 15, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, MI. The burial will follow at the Millington Township Cemetery. Pastor James Bruner will deliver the funeral message and closing committal prayer at the cemetery.
