Mrs. Louise Shifflet

Mrs. Louise Mary Shifflet of Vassar passed away early Wednesday May 13, 2015 at her residence. Louise was 92.

Louise was born in Caro, Michigan on August 2, 1922 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Witkowski) Karpinski. For many years Louise worked and managed several laundromat's for the late Jay Kitchen. Louise was also a life member of the Vassar F.O.E. Aerie no. 2380 and Auxiliary.

Louise leaves; her three daughters and a son in-law. Pat McIntyre, Elaine and husband Joe Pintar, and Pamela Yenglan. She leaves also seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, extended family and two very special friends Betty and Chris. Louise is preceded in death by her seven siblings.

Hanlin Funeral Home has been assisting the family and there will be no services at the funeral home. The family has honored Louise's request and cremation has taken place. The family will host a memorial services at the Vassar Eagles Lodge at a later date. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the Vassar F.O.E No. 2380 651 South State Road Vassar, MI 48768. (It is suggested the gift be mailed directly to the Eagles).
