Mrs. Marion Wager

Marion E. (Spender) Wager passed away Tuesday January 4, 2011 while at the McLaren medical Center in Flint MI, Marion was 89.

Marion E. Spender was the daughter of Harry P. & Hattie (Gebhardt) Spender Sr. and was born in Detroit Michigan on March 7, 1921. On March 27, 1943 Marion married Richard M. Wager, Richard proceeds her in death on November 22, 1962. Marion worked throughout life at various retail stores in Millington as Sales Clerk, working for A&H Cobb general Store, Fall's 5 $ 10 Dime Store, Marion also worked for 20 years with the Millington District Library as a Liberian Clerk. She has also been a long time member of the United Methodist Church of Millington. Marion will be remembered for her open-door to neighbor's friends, and Millington area kids who stopped to see Ma Wager just to hangout. And in her later years she was always seen setting on her porch greeting you as you drove buy, or as you stopped into the post office. Her friendly "Hi There" and her wave will be missed but never forgotten.

Marion leaves her son and daughter in-law, Robert (Bob) & Joyce Wager, daughter and son in-law Sue & Robert Jacobs, six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and many, many friends. Besides her husband Marion is preceded in death by a son Richard James Wager in 1967, and a brother Harry P. (Bud) Spender Jr.

Service Information

Funeral services where held on Saturday January 8th, 2011 at the Millington United Methodist Church the burial to followed at the Millington Twp. Cemetery. Pastor Richard Turner delivered the funeral message and the closing prayers at the cemetery. Memorial Gifts of Remembrance can be directed to a charity of one's choice.
