Mrs. Mary Anger

MARY ANNE ANGER- AGE 85, Died peacefully Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Sunrise on Vernier, Assisted Living in Grosse Pointe Woods, MI surrounded by her family.

Mary Anne was born February 27, 1931 in Flint Michigan to the late Marie and George Sharp. She was a longtime resident of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI. and moved to Millington in the early 1980s. She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Anger in 1996. She is survived by her sister, Jacqueline Brock, five children, Nick (Diane) Spei, Cari (Daniel) Laudon, Suzanne (Mike) Cowan, Martin (Nancy) Spei, Elise (Dan) Paterek. Fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

She graduated from St. Michael’s Catholic High School in Flint, Michigan in 1949. She attended Michigan State College for 3 years and continued her education at Wayne State University. She retired from the Department of Treasury (IRS), Saginaw in 1998. She was active in many clubs including the American Business Women’s Association, General Federation of Women’s Club, Frankenmuth Herb Society, Millington Herb Club, Great Lakes Swing Dance Club, Swing Dance of Flint. She was a Girls Town Angel, literacy volunteer and active in her community. She loved to cook, garden and was an avid crafter, photographer and bird watcher.

The Anger family will receive friends at the Hanlin Funeral Home in MIllington, MI on Saturday June 4, 2016 from 9:00 am until the services begin. Funeral services for Mary Anne will be on Saturday June 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Hanlin Funeral Home. The burial will follow at the Millington Township Cemetery. Pastor Ron Stier will deliver the funeral message and the committal prayer at the cemetery. The family wishes in lieu of flowers a donation to the Great Lakes Caring Hospice Foundation.
