Mrs. Monica Lewis

Monica N. Lewis of the North Lake & Millington area passed away peacefully with her family at her side Thursday morning Feb. 7, 2013 while at the Maplewood Manor Nursing Home in Clio MI, Monica was 80.

Monica was born in Denison Texas on March 8, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Byron & Marie Cope. She was united in marriage with Gene E. Lewis on October the 8th 1950. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1999. Monica was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Saturday morning breakfast club at the North Lake Grocery.

Monica leaves to cherish her memory , are her children, and their spouses: Diane & Robert Smeaton, Denise & Rick Sherman, Debra & Richard Hazel, Mark & Marie Lewis, Brad & Maria Lewis, and Dana & Rick Webster, 22-grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 2-great-great grandchildren, she leaves also many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Monica is also preceded in death by a sister Elaine, and a brother Donald.

Funeral services for Monica were held on Monday Feb. 11, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington. Pastor James Bruner delivered the funeral message and the closing prayers at the cemetery. The burial followed at the Watertown Twp. Cemetery in Fostoria MI. Memorial gifts of remembrance can be directed to the St. Paul Lutheran Church and school.
