Mrs. Susie O'Brien

Mrs. Susie (Semanik) O'Brien of Millington passed away Saturday evening July 20, 2013 while at the McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint MI, Susie was 91.

Susie was the daughter of the late Andro & Mary (Olenchin) Semanik and was born in Flint Michigan on January 21, 1922. She graduated in 1941 from Flint Northern High School. On June 8th of 1943 Susie married Justin Bruce O'Brien she and Justin celebrated 57 years of marriage before his passing in May of 2000. Susie retired in 1985 from the AC/Spark Plug Division of General Motors. Susie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; she also loved reading, sewing, attending retiree luncheons at the AC/Spark Plug Plant, and spending summers at Byram Lake in Linden MI. The family would like to extend their great appreciation and thank you to the McLaren ICU nurses Ron and Greg, Dr. Miguel Perz- Pascual and to the staff of Kith Haven for the care they all gave to their mother in her final hours and days.

Susie leaves to cherish her many memories three children, two sons and daughters in-law; David & Linda O'Brien, and Daniel & Tara O'Brien, a daughter and son in-law Colleen & Ed Anderson, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Besides her husband and parents Susie is also preceded in death by; three sisters, Helen, Mary, and Anna, and two brothers Andrew & Michael Semanik.
